Spice Blends

Here are three basic spice blends that will be the building blocks for dozens of mouth watering recipes that come together in minutes! These are classic pairings that are found in many dishes, so they are versatile and guaranteed to taste great. I’ll be referring to them in my upcoming 5 ingredient, 15 minute meals, but feel free to experiment with them on your own, using them to season curries, stir-fries, baked veggies, tofu, beans, and meat.

In all cases, store the spice blend in an air-tight container in your pantry for up to 6 months.  I suggest labeling them so you know what’s-what. Each one will be enough for about 5-6 meals.  Feel free to double the recipe if you think you’ll be using it a lot.

Italian Spice Blend

  • 2.5 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2.5 tbsp dried basil
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 3 tsp dried red chili flakes
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon

Indian Spice Blend

  • 4 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp ground turmeric
  • 3 tbsp ground coriander
  • 2 tbsp yellow curry powder
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper

Mexican Spice Blend

  • 4 tbsp dried oregano
  • 3 tbsp ground cumin
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper

No fancy labeling needed, just a piece of painters tape will do.
